It’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month! Make sure all your online data is safe and secure behind passwords and two-factor authentication. Keep your private information secure by performing security check-ups on your various accounts, from email health to Google security. Here’s a few tips to keep your data secure.

1. Make sure you’re using strong passwords. Keep your passwords for each account separate and random. Use a password manager for easy access and to help you create a strong password for each account.

2. Setup Multifactor Authentication. Requiring two points of access makes it much less likely that your online accounts can be hacked. Many online platforms, such as social media, email, and financial accounts, have optional MFA that you can turn on to secure your account.

3. Keep your software up to date. This will ensure you have the latest security updates on your devices. Keep an eye on notifications from your device requesting updates or turn on automatic updates to keep your device’s security up to date.

4. Watch out for phishing messages. Some can appear to come from trustworthy sources. Don’t share sensitive information with unknown sources or unsolicited messages. If you’re concerned a message is a scam, report it.
